I visited Indian Curry, which has a location in the Bar Alley on the basement level 2 of the Hanshin Department Store.
There were a few menu items, but the curry itself was just one option—the “Indian Curry,” named after the restaurant—with only toppings to choose from, making it a very simple menu. So I ordered the Indian Curry, and since it’s curry, it was ready and served in about three minutes.

At first glance, it looks like a standard European-style curry, but the moment you take the first bite, you immediately notice a strong sweetness that sets it apart. Just as you think, “Oh, this is a sweet curry,” a wave of spiciness follows right after. By the second and third bites, the flavor becomes more balanced and familiar, but that first bite offers a really unique and refreshing experience.
Overall, the flavor is very simple, and although the taste is different, it gave me a similar impression to CoCo Ichibanya-style curry. At 830 yen, it’s surprisingly affordable for a place inside the Hanshin Department Store, and you can enjoy a really tasty curry, so I’d definitely recommend it. It’s originally a well-known popular shop, so I’m sure many people are already familiar with it.
Spice curry may be trending, but I still think European-style curry is a classic with a reliably great taste, so if you’re craving curry, definitely give it a try.
