Teuchi Udon Yamato｜Motomachi, Kobe

I was in the mood for oyakodon today, so I looked for a nearby udon restaurant and decided to visit Teuchi Udon Yamato.

Since it was my first time visiting the restaurant, I normally would have ordered udon to better understand their cooking, but this time I went with my original plan and ordered the oyakodon and mini soba set (¥1,080).

From what I recall, the restaurant had about two tables on the first floor and around seven or eight tables on the second floor, so it felt fairly spacious. I was shown to a seat on the second floor, and the chairs with tatami mats had a pleasant scent, creating a very calm atmosphere where I could relax comfortably.

The oyakodon was delicious, with a slightly sweet dashi that was well infused into the rice.

The soba was smooth with a nice firmness, and since I chose it cold, it came with grated daikon and kaiware sprouts, which added a nice accent and made it very enjoyable.

Since this restaurant is known for its hand-made udon, I’d like to come back next time to try the udon.
