I had a meal at Tenma Ramen, located in the food court of the Branch Gakuentoshi shopping mall in Tarumi Ward, Kobe.
The ramen features a broth made with Banshu Ako roasted salt, and the original shop is based in Ako City—this branch is part of the food court setup. These days, even food courts feature authentic restaurants, and the food is genuinely delicious.
This time, I ordered the tonkotsu ramen and fried rice set. They offer a full range of flavors—miso, shio (salt), and shoyu (soy sauce)—so next time I visit, I’d like to try something other than the tonkotsu.
Since they use salt from Ako and take great care in crafting their ramen with quality salt, I probably should have gone with the shio (salt) ramen. But I was in the mood for tonkotsu at the time, so that’s what I chose this time.

The tonkotsu ramen at Tenma Ramen isn’t the pure white, Hakata-style broth—it’s a rich, flavorful soup made with various ingredients, giving it more of a tonkotsu-shoyu (pork and soy sauce) ramen feel. The soup leaves a lingering saltiness on the palate, but when combined with the noodles, it balances out perfectly—making for a delicious bowl of ramen. Adding the seaweed and garlic chips as toppings changes the flavor, making it a bowl you can enjoy in two or even three different ways.
The fried rice had that classic ramen-shop style—well-fried with a bold, savory flavor. It’s the kind of dish you’d want to dig into when you’re really hungry and craving something hearty.

Overall, everything was delicious, but I still found myself wanting to try the salt ramen—so next time I visit, I’ll definitely go for the shio ramen.
