This time, I will introduce a soba restaurant located in Motomachi-dori, Kobe.
It’s “SOBA-DOKORO TAKU”, a restaurant popular among locals. This restaurant is known as a famous place in Kobe where you can enjoy delicious soba.
The restaurant opens at 11:00 AM, and on holidays, there may be a wait by 11:30 AM. If you’re going for lunch, it’s recommended to arrive at the restaurant a bit early.
When you arrive at the restaurant and take a seat, you will be served a milky-white soba broth.

In a typical soba restaurant, soba broth is served after you finish eating the soba. And then, the soba broth is added to the dipping sauce and enjoyed as a drink.
However, at Soba-dokoro Taku, they serve soba broth instead of tea.
It was my first time drinking soba broth on its own, and it felt like a completely new experience. It had a subtle soba aroma and a gentle flavor, making it the perfect drink to have before a meal.
Since it was mid-September and the lingering summer heat was intense, I decided to have cold soba. This restaurant is known for its delicious tempura zaru soba and inari sushi, so I ordered them again this time.
When you order soba, the staff will ask whether you prefer black soba or white soba.
This time, I chose the black soba. The soba was thin and delicate, and it paired perfectly with the rich, flavorful dipping sauce. It was very delicious.

The types of tempura included two shrimp, okra, sweet potato, zucchini, baby corn, and lotus root.

The dipping sauce is shared for both tempura and soba, but if you prefer to have them separately, you can ask the staff, and they will provide two servings.
The inari-sushi was just as delicious as its reputation suggested.

This was my first time visiting Soba-dokoro Taku, and I found the atmosphere pleasant and the food delicious. If you love soba, I highly recommend giving it a try.
